A handful of emails, a few more added to the waitlist, some browser problems and some registration misunderstandings ... all part of the game. There are no big surprises yet, thank goodness !
Sandy and Marda went to Blue Springs to see the Manatees; I did some things around the house.
I bought some epoxy putty on amazon, drained the fountain and fixed the slight leak that was taking place through the conduit. I also went to my local BofA branch and opened up an additional account to use for the bike ride. Long term there will probably be some cash sitting there so I didn't want to have it all mixed up with mine, even though I notionally would keep it separate with Quicken. The banking took a while.
I'd hoped to be able to simply open the account online but because my name at the Bank wasn't the same as my name on my Social Security record (plus/minus William), the online system "couldn't verify my identity". We sorted that out but it seems that I'm going to have to put the W on the account as banking regulations continue to tighten. Sigh. Likely my next bank-issued Visa card will have an updated name.
Marda couldn't leave here without having had the Christmas lights up, so I did that. It only takes a few minutes. I confirmed plans with Harris to ride today (Wednesday); we're heading north.
Onward !
