It was a mucky day for a drive but at least it was wet and not slippery. It rained all day, often heavily. Overnight it changed to snow and we have a White Christmas. The temps are supposed to stay a little over freezing through Saturday and then work their way downwards.
We got to Stef's at 1pm and were back home at 11pm. In between we had 5 hours of driving and 5 hours of family time. We could improve that ratio but the family time was much better than the driving time, so we'll weight it more heavily ... ha.
Christmas dinner was a true team effort; turkey will all the fixings, just the way that it's supposed to be. We missed having Jeffrey, Sara and the Reading gang and of course we missed having Kim and Megan. Such is life. Luckily these days it's easier to stay connected.
Speaking of being connected, Sandy was iUpgraded with a new iPad and iPhone 6. I've got the old stuff, but it works for me. Maybe I'll wait for the 6s ... ha !
We loaded Stef up with tools from her list, our carpenter daughter will put them to good use ! Aaron's major gift was a bearing press ... don't worry, the guy at the border didn't know what it was either. David is set with a bicycle trainer and snowshoes for indoor and outdoor exercise. Kylie got the hard drive backup and usb stick that she'd asked for and Lauren was bouncing off the walls wanting to try out her cotton candy maker ...
I went to Mass in Barrie so I don't have to worry about driving today in the slushy muck. That's good. Once it brightens up outside we'll see if the fish are biting on Christmas Day ...
Onward !
