Jan 14 - a very busy day

It's always busy with children around !

Emma had a blast playing with the label maker, going through and entire roll, 26'.  I've saved the second roll for another day.  Outside, she kept herself going with the Razor and rode training-wheels-free, on the new bicycle that she and I picked up at Walmart.  She's still pretty timid; I got her going, ran along beside her, helped her stop upright, but it's coming along.

Zoe raced around from this to that; she's hardly ever still.  The only residual effects from the long day before were some inconsolable crying before her very long mid-day nap.

Matthew took it all in stride.  He rolled himself over from front to back, for the first time, when Sandy and Sara were looking the other way at Zoe.  Figures.  Look away again and he'll probably take his first steps !

I was feeling pretty wiped myself but managed to survive the day as well as a Randonneurs Ontario conference call in the evening. Sandy took a half-hour nap late afternoon.  I think that Sara might have gotten a few winks in there at some point.

French Toast was for breakfast, of course.  Hot dogs etc. were for lunch.  I roasted a chicken on the rotisserie for dinner, which was quite good if I do say so myself.

Today will be different again.  Sandy, Sara, Emma and Matthew are going off leaving Poppa with Zoe.  We'll figure out how to handle that.  The gang is going to the American Girl store in Orlando, including Lunch.  That, plus the bike, was Emma's Christmas present.  ps only at Walmart can I buy a decent kids bike for $69.  We'll bring it up north in the Spring.  I was thinking that perhaps we'd buy a second one for up there but we'll see.  We need kids bikes here for later anyway ... I could probably order this one online and have it waiting for me at Walmart close to their house, saving the transport.

Onward !
