Jan 2 - on our way

We left the cottage at 9:30 am, mad the obligatory stop at the dump, and headed south.

We stopped in Parry Sound for a quick visit with Jim and Bonnie and the self serve car wash. I tried to get all the mud/ice/snow out of the wheels but was unsuccessful. For a while it felt like we were having a massage.

We had a good, albeit short, visit with J&B, catching up on lake happenings. Bonnie fed us good fresh-made bran muffins which helped tide us over to a late arrival in Erie PA.

More south, we stopped at Stef's. They've done a lot of organizing in the basement. Stef got a new workbench for Christmas and one side of the room is organized around her carpentry tools.

We had stopped at the pet food place before Stef's and hit Costco on the way out. Sandy picked up a bunch of her cereal.

More south ... To the border where the predicted 10 minutes was more like 45. Ugh.

Finally at the booth, we were asked "how much wine" and I said 18 bottles. The fellow then explained that our limit was one each and there was a duty of three cents per bottle but he let us go. I have to check that. Surely it's three percent not three cents ?

8pm and we are at the Sheraton bay front in Erie. Nice hotel in the summer no doubt. Inexpensive during the winter.

We ate at the restaurant next door which was disappointing.

Today. - somewhere in SC, perhaps Orangeburg on I26.

Onward.
