I'm a day ahead of myself mentioning this in the blog, but we said goodbye to Frank and Nancy this morning and will be saying hello to Carol and Allister later today. Sandy went back to bed after F&N left around 6:15.
Yesterday turned out quite nice, weather-wise. Fog in the morning gave way to sun and we went over to Flagler, walked a bit and then Canal, covering that street. It doesn't take long to hit all the high points in our little town.
One of the high points is a launch. We zipped down to Matthews, close to where we used to live on Saxon, to see yesterday's launch. It went but we didn't see it. Unfortunately the fog that has plagued the area the last few days was still hanging over the coast. Oh well.
At 5pm we had more guests -- Gene and Judy from next door; Jean from the other side (Chet is in Atlanta); Jim, the newest on the street (Joanne is in PA working) and of course the four of us. We chatted and snacked and had a drink. Gene and Judy had something booked for 7pm so they were the first to leave and shortly afterwards the party dissipated. Pork loin, oven roasted potato wedgies and sauteed zucchini topped off what we'd already filled our bellies with and we all retired soon after 9pm.
Frank and Nancy were up at 5am and have now hit the road. They'll be back in Albany NY around noon and home to Saratoga Springs early afternoon.
Today ... hopefully a bike ride although I may get wet. C'est la vie.
Onward !
