More than the other 400k's, I ended up pretty beat up. Whether that was due to the wind or allergies, I guess I'll never know. My eyes are still a little irritated even this morning, a day later but at least my nose isn't dripping (any more than usual).
I snoozed some more in the afternoon yesterday and then had a normal night's sleep, so I'm pretty much caught up. Guess what ... I'm doing this again Friday with the Flèche 24 hour ride, then back home and snoozing before going into Orlando with Sandy for a show on Saturday night ... hmmm ....
We're pretty much finished with guests for the season, well, not really. We've got people staying with us on Thursday night -- Paul, Melanie and Wayne -- prior to the Fleche; Dick Felton prior to the Sunshine 1200k pre-ride and we're hoping to see Marda but nothing has been nailed down.
Sandy did some gardening in the afternoon yesterday, warm enough in the sun to work but cool otherwise. The temperature swings back up again today, 48F out there now but the wind will be coming from the south and we'll be hitting mid 70's today and then into the 80's later in the week. I want it warm for the Fleche !!
She made salmon burgers for dinner but I called them salmon cakes as they're similar to crab cakes only with salmon. They were quite good. She'd bought the chopped salmon some time ago and it's been frozen. This is certainly something that we can do up north. Come to think of it, she could use other types of fish as well ... crappy cakes ? We could also eat this sort of thing with buns. She pan fried them the same way that she does with crab cakes. If it was sushi grade salmon, they could be done rare ...
I've got to chase down some things for the Sunshine 1200k this week as well as get my taxes squared away to file. Most of the work is done, I just have to review against all the final forms that I received.
That's about it, I think ... Onward !
