We had a scheduled power outage from 9 - 1 and sure enough, right at 9am, it went out. I was sure that they wouldn't take the entire time, but they almost did. Utility trucks were working on the lines at the end of our little cul-de-sac.
Rather than hear beep-beep-beep, I shut things down. I also managed to shut down the alarm system warning beep. As soon as that started, Abby stood at the door wanting to go outside.
I went for a ride. Sandy worked in the garden and then went Kayaking -- the club has kayaks to borrow. We bought her a paddle the day before and she gave it a workout ... she also gave herself a workout having to fight the tidal current coming home. She paddled into the wind going out but here the wind isn't the issue. Live and learn.
Today we're supposed to go boating but I have to check the Doppler as they'd increased the chance of rain to 50% later today. Tomorrow starts the Flèche prep, driving to and from St. Pete's Beach, a three hour jaunt each way, dropping off a car and bringing back Paul, Melanie and Wayne. We start riding at 7am on Friday; finish at 7am on Saturday. As usual, SPOT will be on ...
Onward !
