Yes, I got rained upon. Quite. I need to get my fenders installed ! I'm likely to get some rain this coming weekend on the 600k as well, so I might as well go for it ... assuming that I get the lights mounted and the bag arrives ... sigh.
Once home, Abby and I went shopping. I didn't want to leave her alone again so she came to Harbor Freight and Publix. I wasn't inside long in either of them.
At HF, I bought the 6.5 hp engine that I'm going to figure out how to install on the wood splitter that Jim has given me. That should be interesting. I'd been waiting for it to go on special -- $99 -- and it did -- was actually charged $95. I also bought a new vice (don't have enough vices ?) as the one that I've had for 40 years (?) has been giving me trouble. What can go wrong with a vice ? Well, the entire screw mechanism is loose and the end cap has come off the adjuster and rolled somewhere on the floor. Things like this are inexpensive at HF.
The girl at the cash register couldn't get it to apply my 20% coupon to the vice and the $99 coupon to the engine. She gave up after reversing the transaction and trying a couple more times and ended up applying 20% to both, knowingly, which is why the $95 vs $99. You're only supposed to be able to use the 20-off coupon once (20-off sounds like Sandy talking about BB&B (Bed Bath and Beyond).
Speaking of Sandy, she had some problems upgrading the iPad to 8.03 and called me, oh, six times in the space of five minutes ? Ha. We sorted it out but I'll have to review the setup against the other three devices (old iPad and both phones) as Apple seems to want to turn on things like Apple-pay at these times.
I've been watching a few episodes of Haven, a series that I gather Sara has gotten into. Well, Fringe is on the fringe, but tries to make it with technical explanations. Haven is just as fringy, but I haven't decided if I'd class the the issues as "weird", definitely not "scary" (like Stephen King), maybe simply "silly" ??.
I did some sausages on the barbie ...
Well ... not sure what today will bring, weather wise, but I'm going to start taking a look at the lights on the new bike, which means moving them from the trusty Litespeed. Perhaps I'll look at the fenders too. I do see rain heading our way.
Onward !
