We did have a good time on the ride. I'll need to do a complete write-up. Afterwards, we got cleaned up and went for dinner at a Japanese Steakhouse, which hit the spot even though it made the day longer. Dick and I then set out for home, which is a 4+ hour drive, getting back at 2:21 a.m.
We did stop along the way for a half-hour snooze. I wasn't feeling particularly snoozy but knew that I would at some point. Having gotten the most sleep that I've ever had on a 1200k, I was in pretty reasonable shape.
Yesterday, May 4, Dick and I went over the cue sheet notes that I'd taken and sent them to Paul. He's now pressing RUSA for route approval, hasn't heard anything since submission.
Dick headed over to his rental in the afternoon; I'm sure that he got some good sleep, as did I. We'd both done laundry earlier, unpacked the car etc. I'm still sorting some of it out. I also have boxes and boxes of jerseys, t-shirts, medals, mugs etc. It's quite the mess of stuff. Oh yes, and there's a bunch of scuba stuff in the dining room as we used the large duffel for the trip. I guess that I should clean that up !
I'm sorting out final hotel and ferry stuff today, some overcharges and undercharges from the pre-ride. The undercharges occurred, I expect, because someone else's card imprint for incidentals was used. They shouldn't pay for the room.
Onward !
