Jun 18 - a great helper

I cut up the fallen half-tree; it was huge, at the limit of my chain saw 18" blade even though 30 feet up.  Emma then helped me load it up onto the 4-wheeler trailer and take it up to the barn for splitting and piling.  Of course I managed the large pieces but there were many small as well, harvesting as much of the branches as possible.

Before that, I did some more mowing in the "back 40", which is now the cleanest that it's been since my Mom used to mow up there.  I'm letting several trees grow, pine, spruce, maple and oak, so that area will gradually become more glade than open space.

... and ... not much more.  The hauling took us quite a while as we were interrupted a couple of times by rain, it was that kind of day.  Mosquitoes ... amazing crop this year ... I'm anxious to see how the Mega Catch does once installed.  In a way I want lots of the critters still here so that I can judge its effectiveness, convince myself that it was worth the money.

The DR mower is definitely worth its money, although, as I said earlier, self propelled would have been nice !

That's it ... packing today and leaving for Sheryl's tomorrow a.m., back a week Monday.

Onward !
