May 29&31 - the wrap-around

Well, I covered what happened on the ride.  There's not much more to say about the 30th !

On the 29th I got organized, some odds and ends and then after an early dinner, headed to Barrie.  I fully expected that it would take a little more time going east on 522 and following the gravel road that we intend to ride on the upcoming 600k but hadn't counted on the 50kph speed limits on most of the route to Barrie.  I called Sandy at one point when I had cell service and asked her to let Stef know that I'd be there more like 10pm than 9pm ... then later told her that I gave up, it would be well after 11pm and could she please let Stef know and find me a motel.  She did and I got to that motel around 11:30.  Actually, it was a quality, Quality Inn, better than most.

On the 30th, of course, we did the ride, finishing 23 hours and 17 minutes later at 5:17 a.m.  I stopped at a Tim's in Barrie for coffee and headed north, unsure at that point what to do vis-a-vis Mass.  By the time I got to Parry Sound, I'd made a decision (of course even before getting to PS I'd stopped for a 1/2 hour snooze), and emailed Sandy from the Starbucks that I was going to stick around PS for a while then go to Mass in Britt on the way.  It really didn't make any sense to get home and head out a few minutes later.

So ... I did some grocery shopping at Sobey's and bought and ate some breakfast, then headed north to Britt.  I stopped along the way for another snooze at the Industrial Park just north of Parry Sound.

Heading back to the cottage, I unloaded, which took several trips, then had some lunch.  When Zoe went down, so did I.  Back on a normal (?) or at least my normal schedule, I went to bed at 9pm and had a dead-to-the-world sleep.

Onward !
