Well, Abby is eating, just not the same. I gave her the anti-inflamatory first thing and then she didn't want any food at all. Surely that wasn't a reaction to the little piece of bread. We went fishing, lost a minnow or two, came back and she ate half of her breakfast. Later in the a.m. she ate the rest. At dinner time, she came looking for me; I fed her and she ate it all. Perhaps she's like Sandy, doesn't want to eat when she first gets up ?
... and then there's the Bayliner. Nope. Diagnosis is a carb problem, one or more of the three carburetors (one for each cylinder). "Idle circuit" says one forum post. Ethanol fuel has screwed up yet another engine, that and leaving it sit for 18 months.
I did some prepping to take it somewhere, completely draining the fuel tank of the old gas. I'd been running it (or rather trying to run it) on fresh gas, with the intake hose dunked in a jerry can. I'd drained lines, cleaned fuel filter etc. hoping that I would simply find that the engine was being starved, but no.
This morning I'll go into town to talk to Mike, hoping that he will take the boat for repair in the next couple of weeks or alternatively, call Gordon Bay. Jason had used a fellow in Point au Baril, but given his experience with that guy, I'm not heading there.
Angela and Russ are supposed to be here around lunch today and will be with us for 24 hours. We haven't caught up with them face-to-face in a few years. Facebook isn't face-to-face !
Sandy went into Sudbury yesterday to pick up fixin's for dinner. She's making her salmon and leek pie, which is always good. We might go into town to Jake's Place for lunch ... or Lost Channel ... but Jake's would be better.
Onward ...
