No, not me, just Angela, Russ, Abby and Sandy.
Good news on the Bayliner front, sort-of. I called Mike in town and he'll look at it next week. Hopefully "look at it" means "fix it". I cleaned up my mess up at the barn, pulled the hoses down to the waterfront and prepared to power wash the Whaler.
I decided to get the lake water pump going, let's not have something else sit for a year and then not work again ! I also decided to, finally, add a T down by the water so that priming it is simply a matter of running some water from the house system into that. I found the necessary plumbing pieces, including the T and hose bib, hooked things up and voila, running. I'd thought about this for years but instead had taken the (not) easy way out and primed it with a container of water. Over and over and over, it usually took an hour. This took much less time, including installation !
The power washer started right up and for the next hour I got the worst off the Whaler. It's a losing battle with the sap that comes off the pine tree but at least it looks better for a little while. The power washer doesn't touch the dried sap, but does remove a lot of the dirt.
Our guests arrived around 2pm and we sat outside for a bit, deciding that the deer flies were too much of a PITA and moved to the gazebo. Later on, Angela and Russ decided to go for a swim. Abby joined them, briefly, and then couldn't get out. Sandy tried to help her, slipped and went down on her butt in the water. She decided it was easier to swim over to the dock (this at the Davies) than climb the slippery rock. Meanwhile I led Abby along the shore so that she could get out at the cove.
Sandy made her salmon and leek pie with wild coho or one of those west coast salmons. It was excellent. Green beans and her balsamic peppers completed the picture and then a desert that took seven egg yolks and cream ... hmm. I even had some. I'm sure that there was some sugar in there but didn't ask. Off the carb wagon for one small piece of desert won't kill me. Oh yes ... ice wine too.
Today, not sure. They'll be heading home later on but I don't know their plans. My dentist called and moved my appointment from Thursday noon to Wednesday 1:30 p.m. I think that we'll head to my Aunt Ruth's on Thursday for dinner. The week is getting kind-of spoken for !
Onward !
