Jul 2 - my turn for Sudbury

Off I go, or rather, north I go.  I had a list of things to do, most of which I accomplished.

First off, to the place to get my so-called 20lb CO2 tank filled, but Bulk Barn was on the way, so I stopped there and bought a few things - almonds, chicken soup powder, etc - then continued to SPI.  It cost $75 including HST to fill the tank; didn't take long.  They have a big tank that's replenished by Praxair; everyone making some money in the process.  Hooking that up to the Mega Catch was easy; we'll see how it does.  We've noticed a drop in the number of mosquitoes but some of that occurs naturally.  What doesn't occur naturally is all the mosquitoes inside the catcher !

From SPI, I went to Ugo's, a barber that I found just down the road.  A one-man operation, he was competent.  Onward again, crawling now in traffic through construction, I eventually got to Costco.  I'd hoped to stop at Princess Auto along the way but didn't know the address and neither did my Garmin, which found the nearest PA in Barrie ... I stopped at a Tim's for wifi service and found that I'd already gone past PA and wasn't going to retrace my "steps".

I spent a lot of time, and money, in Costco, loading up a cart with all sorts of things, from steak to ribs to cheese to more almonds to water softener salt with lots in between.  Very expensive, and of course they don't even take Amex any more in the Great White North, only Mastercard and, of course, cash or debit.  I refuse to get another credit card, so I used debit ... which I really don't like.

From Costco, I went to Staples, which is in the same strip mall and picked up some kraft envelopes as I have a bunch of Randonneurs Ontario stuff to mail out.  From there, home.

By the time I got back home, I'd been out six hours.  I had a late lunch then put stuff away and did the CO2 hookup.

While I was away, Sandy did some cleanup in the garden and outside around the house (deck) and gazebo.

Not much else to report.  A little fog on the lake this morning. I'm hoping to go fishing after breakfast.

Onward !
