Jul 30 - lots of gigs

Well, even though I doubled our internet allotment, we blew through it !  With everyone having more than one device and with things like Facebook automatically playing videos (unless you turn that off), it's not hard to do.  Yesterday at 9:40 a.m. we were at 35 gb and overnight we're over 40.  I didn't even realize that we could pull down more than 5gb in a day.  It's not a big deal, they simply tack on another 10gb at a time but at some point, and I don't know what that is, they have a "brownout" mode and they also have a "blueout" mode.  I can't find anything about them via Google.

It was a quieter day yesterday; the frenzy had died down.  The grandkids played on the beach; the adult kids did some kayaking; I took the Bayliner out for a couple of rides and made a trip to town for mail; Stef and Aaron left around noon.

Lauren wrote the boating test but didn't make it.  She'll try again today.  The process forces you to wait 24 hours.

It was quite windy, perhaps as rough as I've seen it at the confluence of Smith's Bay and the main lake; good size waves coming from two directions.  The wind kept at it all day -- it would have been an excellent day for the windsurfer, but Aaron had left -- and so had the windsurfer -- he's going to give it some use on Lake Simcoe.  Our lake isn't really good for windsurfing or sailing, for that matter.  It's unusual to have a consistent wind.

I believe that Jeffrey and Sara are planning on leaving tomorrow a.m.  I'm doing a bike ride tomorrow out of Bancroft, so I'll be heading south in the wee hours and likely back after midnight.

Abby doesn't seem to be getting any better or any worse.  She eats all of her food by the end of the day but isn't terribly hungry first thing in the morning.  She's unsteady at times, not much strength in her back legs -- or pain limiting her, we have no way of knowing.  It's hard to say if the anti-inflammatory has helped.    We are taking her to an animal chiropractor (yes, they exist) on Tuesday for evaluation.  Sandy figures that she's got pulled muscles; I just don't know.  I would have thought that muscles would have healed by now.

The chiropractor is in Barrie; I've got a couple of other things that I want to do while I'm there.  We'll be taking two cars because Sandy is going to continue on to Toronto to visit Joyce and get her hair done, so she'll overnight in Oakville on Tuesday.  Mine will be a day trip, back that night.

Onward ?
