Jul 6 - there and back again

Let's see, gone for 11 hours ...

Out of here at 6:30, first stop was at Home Depot in Parry Sound to pick up some shark bites for plumbing, then fuel and Starbucks in Parry Sound before continuing to head south.

By the way, I like the fact that diesel is about 10 cents cheaper than regular gas right now in Ontario ... nice !

Next stop, Princess Auto in Barrie, which is right by Home Depot, looking at wrenches (too expensive, Harbor Freight cheaper so I'll skip that) and 1.25" braided vinyl hose for the effluent pump.  I wasn't sure of the size so I looked at Home Depot in Oakville ... more on that later.

Before Princess Auto, however, I hit the Canadian Tire right there to pick up a couple of gallons of DEF, as my car signaled it's need for DEF.  The emission controls won't let the car start once I'm completely out but it does give me a 999 mile warning and then continues to count down every time that I start the car.  It won't shut down while running but won't start again, if completely out of DEF.

Off again, next stop HD in Oakville on Dundas, because I had the time.  I checked the diameter of my existing corrugated hose, confirmed 1.25", and checked out the price of the braided hose there ... twice the price of Princess Auto, so forget that !

Off to the dentist cleaning appointment.  Sandy arrived while I was in the waiting room.  During the appointment she checked out the tooth that's giving me trouble and I need to see Dr. Weir or somone, something is going one, might have to have my very first root canal or something as I've got a persistent issue.  That's a later project but I should do something about it before going to Europe in case it erupts and causes me trouble there ... but then again, this has been there for a few years so it's not likely to ...

Off again, heading north; I stopped at Princess Auto for the hose, then off to Barrie.  I stopped at Parry Sound Sobeys for groceries, Canadian Tire gas bar for fuel again, Starbucks again (love those grande non-fat caps), then to the Stihl dealer on Woods Road, buying my new Sthil-branded weed eater.

North again, I'm back at the ranch about 5:30.  Interesting with this diet, I wasn't hungry all day.  I'd had 1/2 cup of bran buds plus two poached eggs for breakfast and that was good for the day, no blood sugar drops signaling the need for food. I still wasn't hungry but ate out of habit ... joined Jason and Lorraine in the gazebo for a glass of wine.

Abby was happy to hear me.  Apparently she'd barked when the X5 pulled in, even though she was over at Davies.  She recognized the sound.  He brought her over as I was unpacking my groceries.

That's it for yesterday.  Today it's raining so I'm doing some indoor projects.

Onward !
