Sep 27 - the eclipse

Figures ... behind the clouds we had an eclipse.  The cloud cover was dense enough that there was nothing to see.

During the day, however, it was a beautiful blue sky.  I went to Mass in Britt and then hit the road on my bike a little after noon.  It was quite a struggle heading west and south into a strong SW wind, but I knew that the trip back would be much more fun, and it was.

I saw Kyle heading west on 522 as I was heading east, or at least I figured that's who it was who waved to me and confirmed with Jason that he'd left around 4pm.  We had a glass of wine with Jason, Lorraine, Gavin and Amanda (and Don for part of the time) and then we headed back for dinner -- pork loin and roasted Brussels Sprouts; excellent as usual.  G&A were leaving later that evening as they both have to work today.

That's about it.  Jason heads home this morning and we won't see them again at the cottage before next year.  They are celebrating Thanksgiving at Lo's parents' place and won't be up until afterwards.  However, we will see them in Brantford before we head south and Florida soon after we arrive.

It's warm outside right now but it looks like we're heading close to a frost by the end of the week.  I guess that the wood stove will get some use !

Onward ...
