David had arrived on Thursday night; the rest of the 2015 Canadian Thanksgiving gang arrived on Saturday.
From left to right at the rear - Stef, Aaron, Arron's Mom Kate, David, Sandy, me. Front row, Kylie's boyfriend Chris, Kylie, Lauren and, of course, Mya.
When they arrived, Mya raced into the house looking for Abby. She ran around, then back outside, then in again. It took a while before she settled down, realizing that Abby was nowhere to be found. Ah.
We had Turkey with the usual fixings -- mashed potatoes a la Aaron; turnip, green beans, coleslaw, dressing. We ate about half of the 17 pound bird. Sandy also made two pies -- apple and cherry. Both were made from the fruit, not, for example, cherry pie filling. There was no pumpkin pie this time.
The low carb diet doesn't mesh well with our traditional dinner. Turkey, green beans and turnip; oh yes, and coleslaw of course. Hmm. I had gravy for the first time in years. I did have a tablespoon or so of mashed potatoes and stuffing -- mashed potatoes I don't miss; stuffing I do. Oh well.
It was cool and cloudy most of the day but today, Sunday, is supposed to be much nicer; current forecast 64F and partly cloudy. Tomorrow, Monday, it's supposed to get up to 69F and partly cloudy ! Tuesday, our last day here tops at 56F with rain. David and I will have to get the outside work done on Monday.
Onward ...
