... but not as quickly as we'd thought ...
We left Jason's just after 9am and were at the dentist at 10, quite early for the 10:30 appointment. I decided to let Sandy go first; I'd go to Home Depot and while away some time. That was a mistake, as it turned out. Each appointment was an hour, back to back and I figured that we'd be out of there around 12:30 ... nope ... 1:30.
After my appointment I was supposed to see Dr. Galli, which usually only takes a couple of minutes. Well, they wanted a full set of x-rays -- it had been years and years -- and then he saw me. He did the usual checkup, commented that gums looked good and, as usual, needed to continue to monitor, do regular cleanings. Yes, got that.
His chief concern was the area that we'd been looking at during the summer on the lower left - the area where I'd had Dr. Weir looking as well. Galli figured that it was like irritation between the edge of the crown and the gum and he'd have to do a little bit of surgery which would reduce the irritation (it was a little puffy even then) and then and only then look at replacing the crown. However, before doing any surgery, they had to rule out any issues with the teeth themselves, a possible vertical crack perhaps that wasn't showing up on the xrays.
So ... the next step would be a special vertical slice x-ray appointment at a different place, located just north of the 401 on Hurontario. This place doesn't need an appointment, "only takes 20 minutes" -- which wasn't far off the truth, but first we had to stop and get some food and of course do that city driving to get there and then out of Dodge then pick up food at Sobeys in Parry Sound ...
... long story short, it was 7pm by the time we got to the cottage ... light fading quickly.
Unloaded and unpacked, wood stove fired up, groceries put away, we ate our Sobeys chicken (lazy people) and relaxed. There was a telephone message from Chantelle (puppy lady) that the dogs were going to the vet tomorrow (that's today) at 11am and we should call her after that. How will this unfold ? Will we be heading off Thursday or Friday or Saturday ? I guess that once it's light out, I'll get ready for whatever.
Watch this space for the latest !
Al Roissl and I had been trading messages all day and finally hooked up as we pulled into Sobeys. We caught up on the status of his driveway construction.
It's going to be a busy day !
Onward !
