3:15 a.m. lots of barking. I was just about to get up and tell her "no" and she stopped; nothing more until close to 5am. I should have gotten up at 4:45 because shortly after that, she started up again. Ugh. We don't want to reinforce the behavior so I waited for her to stop, but that didn't happen. I finally got up after 5:00 and told her "no" and she settled down. I stayed quiet in the living room for 10-15 minutes and then got her up. Will she associate the barking with a response ? Heaven only knows.
What a lap dog she is; yes she is spoiled; perhaps that's the problem ...
Another problem is that she's growing but my lap isn't. She's only allows in the living room on my lap and she's getting heavy to pick up and carry across the room !
Oh well. As Bonnie noted, she's a "keeper". At night she trots happily into her kennel but we need to get her body clock in tune with mine !
I did get some work done on the dock yesterday, in spite of the shoulder. I couldn't lift anything with my left arm but I could use my right arm to pry boards and hammer nails, so I got the entire right hand area of the dock almost ready to lay boards. This morning the shoulder is feeling quite a bit better although it still hurts to simply hang my arm down vs hold it with bent elbow. This is looking more and more like bruising. I hope that's the case !
Sandy did all the "heavy lifting" yesterday as the accumulation of old dock wood needed to be moved out to the street. I didn't move any of the wood from the new area, other than the dismantled wooden bench, because I need something to stand on while I lay new boards. The big question is, at this point, how will I make out loading the car and then carrying those ten-footers to the back yard ? Worst case, I can get HD to help me load the cart and the car and then Sandy to help carry them to the back. It will take two trips; I won't load 20 of those into the car. I could also give it a couple of days before proceeding but I get anxious to make progress ...
We had pork chops for dinner last night, big pork chops. We're definitely consuming more than the recommended 3 oz of red meat per month.
Onward ...
