The shoulder is improving but it's still pretty tender. It doesn't hurt to have my arm simply hanging down but I can feel it if I carry any weight in that position. I was able to move a pile of lumber into my cart, car and backyard but that's not the dangling position. It hurts to raise the arm out to the side or up high ... hope it doesn't plateau that way. At one point I reached up to the cupboard for something and it hurt and I momentarily thought that I was using the wrong arm as I'm pretty used to where my right arm hurts from the rotator cuff issue. At this point I've got matching shoulders ...
On with life; every day is a new world as you get older and more pains develop, or so it seems.
I did a quick check of the bike and re-tightened the fork headset which had loosened a little with the impact. I guess that I'll pull the fork to check before doing any more riding on that bike; that would be prudent. I still have my old fork that I could swap. It hadn't had any crashes whereas this one has had both the frontal assault on the gate a few years ago and this one. I'd been thinking about getting a Ti fork for this frame (the Litespeed) and perhaps that's the way that I should go. I want to raise the bars on this bike anyway.
After my Chiro appointment, we took the Skiff out to the island and gave Cassie a run & swim. The boat is working well for that purpose. I've yet to go fishing; need to do that soon ! It's boat designed for fishing - shallow water, live wells, trolling motor - it's time to do it !
Other than pick up some lumber, I did no more than do some planning with the dock. I'm going to extend the one side by about six inches to get it closer to the boat. If I ever get a wider boat that will have to be undone; c'est la vie. I picked up some 2x8 lumber and 6" galvanized bolts to extend the existing stringers. They'll hit the cross pieces below, which are only about 12" away, so that won't even be noticeable nor will there be any bounce.
While I was at HD, Sandy went out and picked up dinner -- tuna -- and it was great.
Today ... root canal at 10:45 ... hopefully this long lasting issue will be dealt with.
Onward !
