... isn't so little anymore. She was 17 pounds at the Vet on Wednesday. She's still at the low end of the scale as the average at this age is more like 22. She turned three months on November 27.
It was a good ride yesterday. Bruce Miller, who I met for the first time and Harris Samuels both joined me but bailed half-way. They turned south at Flagler Beach, my normal 100+k ride, while I slogged north another 30 miles to St. Augustine Beach.
It was windy ! Predicted at 15mph it was, of course, more on the ground when you weren't protected. I beat the rain, however, which came in around barbecue time (of course !). That's December's 200k out of the way. I hope to get in another couple of 100k rides before we head north on Dec 14 -- yes, that's now a lock.
We head north on December 14, probably leaving around noon, probably getting to Orangeburg SC. From there we will continue to somewhere south of Erie PA, then to Oakville ON on the 16th for a 4pm appointment with Dr. Weir (dentist). We will stay somewhere in the Toronto area and head north to the cottage the morning of the 17th.
The left shoulder still hurts but didn't bother me riding, unlike the right shoulder when it was hurt a couple of years ago. Tomorrow will mark a week ... it's still tender so I shouldn't expect any improvement until that muscle bruising goes away.
Oh yes, before heading north on the 14th I have this little thing called a colonoscopy on the 11th which means no food on the 10th which means that I probably can't ride either day (well, certainly the 11th but probably not the 10th either with no food !).
Marda arrives tomorrow, the 5th, and then leaves the 10th, a flying visit ! That only leaves 4 days on the ground for her (or on the water) so we'll have to see what she wants to do.
Today ... nothing particular on the agenda. I've got lots to do bike-wise, from doing the Randonneurs Ontario year end to mailing out letters to the Sunshine 1200k participants with their brevet cards, which just arrived from Paul Rozelle. No one would miss them if I didn't mail until the new year but I want to get these out the door. I have to compose a "thank you" letter, print labels and lick stamps (well, not really lick). I probably need to buy envelopes too.
Also bike-wise I've got maintenance to do. I haven't touched the bikes since getting here; it's too crowded at my workbench and I've been working on the dock.
My puppy is reminding me that she hasn't been fed yet. I don't feed her until 6am. A little while ago she brought me the ball, wanting to play "fetch", which I did for a little while and then got caught up on things with the laptop. I haven't been upstairs in days ...
Onward !
