My major accomplishment for the day was completing the railings on the one side of the dock/deck, i.e. the right-hand side as you look down the walkway. It's a bit of a fussy exercise. In the process I also added a face board which I hadn't originally planned. I also trimmed the boards that I'd deliberately left an inch or two long, or in the case of the left-hand side and in front of the boat, left at their starting 10' length. The new circular saw is getting a good workout.
I had picked up enough wood to do both the right and left sides, so I'll do the left side today. It has the small counter and sink, so it too will be fussy. Left at that point will be the walkway, the most straightforward but requiring some 12' 2x8's. I'm half tempted to pick those up and finish the job as that will be all that's left and that's the least fussy of all the work. We'll see.
The morning routine is set at this point -- up for me and Cassie, Cassie goes out to pee and then sleeps some more while I use the laptop in the kitchen. Sometime in the ensuing hour she'll want to go out and poop. I have to work the gym into the picture which might not happen until we return. I feed us both at 6am. Sandy gets up at 7:15 and heads to the gym (good for her !), 8am on Wednesday and Friday with Jessica. Cassie is good to leave in the kitchen if both of us are out but we haven't left her by herself for more than an hour. She's completely house trained at this point and has only shown inclination to chew toys, nothing else ...
Well, she doesn't chew anything that she hasn't been given before, to clarify that. She's been given plastic water bottles to play with; she loves crunching those. Yesterday she came walking out of the laundry room with a full bottle of ginger ale; apparently thinking that was a toy ! Luckily she didn't puncture it. There's a small stash of soda bottles and Costco Kirkland water bottles under the laundry room counter.
Marda arrives today and we'll eat at the SYC. At least that's the plan. Hopefully everything is on time or we'll find a Plan B.
What else ... not much. We had Lane Snapper for dinner, one of the many types of Snapper (Red, Mangrove, etc.) that the fish stores have that are locally caught.
The weather continues warm, both here and up north. There's no snow and the overnights hover just under freezing. There's still a chance that we'll get a cold snap and ice on the lake but that's diminishing. Hopefully we will have a white Christmas; we'll see. Putting the snow tires on the car seems like a waste of time but I'm sure that they'll see snow before the first week of January ... maybe.
Onward ?
