Let's start with the end of the day -- dinner at Disney. Thanks to Kim the Disney Travel Agent, we had dinner for six at the Grand Floridian Cafe - Sandy and me, Jason and Lorraine, Lloyd and Denise. The tour guide stayed home. As usual, Disney food didn't disappoint. With the Tables in Wonderland card, it was even reasonably priced.
The GF is one of the Magic Kingdom area hotels, a huge complex of hotel, villas and spa. We didn't get there early enough to do any touring, but that didn't matter. We got the idea. As with most of the Disney properties, it's pricey. When I looked it up to get directions, we could have had a room for "only" $550 that night. Of course that was a lower end room; they run up to $2,500 for a two bedroom suite. Want to bring the kiddies ? Sure ! We've got just the room for you !
The menu was simple - one of everything. Pork chop, steak, salmon, chicken, pasta and burger. Sandy, Lorraine and I had the salmon, perfectly done; Jason and Denise had the surf and turf burger; Lloyd had the pork chop. It all looked good. Jason had the desert sampler that was passed around; Sandy had her own exquisite little chocolate thing. The desert sampler had a hard chocolate Mickey Mouse on it ... yup.
Cassie's Aunt Sheryl and Uncle Jim looked after her, no doubt getting spoiled. They arrived around 3:30 and we left at 4:15. Earlier in the day I'd done some more organizing in the garage; it's getting there. I also backed out the Harley, started it up and gave it a wash as it was covered with dust from all the deck work. Now it's just dirty but not embarassingly so.
A surprise delivery arrived -- crab and salmon -- from Pike's Market in Seattle. I'd first thought that it was from George and Geri; who else would send us food ? and sent them an email. Then I found the packing slip and wished that I could take that stupid email back as it was from Vincent Muoneke and likely also John Pearch, the 1200k riders. That they would send something didn't even cross my mind. All I could think of was the flour that I'd sent Geri and that this box of food was way, way over the top. Stupid stupid. I did call George. Duh. We reminisced about Merlin and Abby.
I did a bunch of work on the CS1200k and exchanged some emails on the GA1200k. Somehow I've got two of them underway at the same time but of course it's not nearly as much work as when I ran the Sunshine last year. It's early days for the 2017 Granite Anvil and I'm only the back end support on the Cracker Swamp. Thank goodness.
That's about it. 35F out there this morning but the days are going to warm up again - 69F tomorrow and sunny, so we'll hopefully get out in the boat with Cassie.
Onward !
