Feb 9 - to the sandbar again

With a west wind at 25 mph and temperature in the low 50's, it wouldn't have been a day for boating except for the dogs.  I took them to the sandbar and they had a blast.  I actually wore jeans ... we left because I was cold, not because they were tired !

Prior to that, I went to the eye doctor for a checkup.  It looks like my prescription has changed enough that I'd benefit from an update.  I've had this prescription for quite some time.  There's been a gradual change but not enough to make a difference.  The other is age-related creeping cataracts, more so on the right.  Cataract surgery is pretty routine these days; I'm still a few years off from that.

I took them both for a walk again, Nico first so that he could do his business.  Well, that likely helped but by the time I got back with the dogs, I was carrying a bag with three piles of poop to join the poop that Nico had dropped on the first short outing.  They both contributed to the second bag -- Nico two more times and Cassie one.

My PBP medal, video and book had arrived in the mail the night before.  Watching the video, we saw Shab -- Hamid's wife -- half-way through ringing her bell in Brest.  Further in, I spotted Henk in his Granite Anvil jersey, back to the camera in Mortange au Perche.

Doris leaves late afternoon today.  Cassie will really miss Nico !  The two of them are constantly at each other.  If the weather looks ok I may take them out again but it will be even colder than yesterday - perhaps ski jacket time !

Onward !
