Feb 8 - home alone

Cassie was left home alone for the longest ever yesterday, 5 hours while I was out biking.  Sandy and Doris went to St. Augustine for lunch with a friend of Doris leaving just after 11am; I left soon afterwards.  I was back before 4pm; S&D were back about a half-hour later.  Cassie survived.

She only goes in her kennel at night; not sure if that's even necessary; actually I'm sure that it's not, however, it is the routine.

Before they left in the morning, I took Nico out for a couple of blocks and he pooped - he likes doing that on walks.  It's not a treat for the walker.  I then took both of them out for my usual walk, Cassie on the left and Nico on the right.  They actually walked well together ... and then Nico pooped again.  Not having three hands and thankful that it was garbage day, that bag of poop ended up in someone's garbage can.

The ride yesterday featured a strong WSWWW wind ... yes, there was a minuscule southerly component.  Most of the time it almost seemed that it had a northerly component. I did ride south.  Today the wind is supposed to be definitely, positively from the west at 25 mph.  With a predicted high of 55 (up from the earlier prediction of 51), perhaps I'll get out in the boat with the dogs.  There's always tomorrow as well; I think that Doris has to head to the airport around 4pm for an 8pm flight.

I had a Randonneurs Ontario conference call last night.  They seem frequent at this time of year but the next one isn't until mid-June.  They are tied to events, like the annual awards dinner on Saturday, the upcoming Toronto Bike Show, etc.  I've got some work to do on a couple of the routes.

That's about it.

Onward !
