It was a great day yesterday, great for a ride. Sheryl wasn't feeling up to a boat ride so we cancelled and I took advantage of the day. With a WSW wind, I made reasonably good time but there was only one stretch just south of the Kennedy Parkway where I really had a headwind / tailwind.
Cassie got a walk before and after; we had pork chops for dinner; I see a bunch of little limes (key limes) on the counter so I know what Sandy's plans for today are ...
Carol and Alister will be hitting the road this morning, on their way here. It's a good six hour drive from Panama City plus the one hour time change, so we expect them around 5pm. Jim and Sheryl will also join us for dinner. Cassie will have a blast !
I spent some time yesterday a.m. sorting out flights to/from Milan and have settled on Venice. I'll fly over on the 12th; Sandy a week later. She'll spend a day in Venice before heading to Milan by train -- fares vary from $11 to $23 -- wish the flight was that cheap !
I also checked into Jerry's air fare and then had a chat with him. His air fare is over $1500 flying from Minneapolis (vs mine at $685) but he can fly from Chicago for $700 less. All this is in USD. He'll fly the 12th as well and return on the 23rd. We won't return until September 11, or perhaps a day or two earlier. I haven't settled that part yet. He and I will share the room at the Hotel Poli in Nerviano, the Milan suburb where the ride starts the evening of the 16th.
I guess that's it ... Onward !
