Cassie has never bothered with furniture, shoes etc. but loves chewing toys. She finds a little thing to go after, like a tag, and works at it, eventually destroying the toy -- or at least chewing until he stuffing starts to come out and then we take the toy away. She loves her big nylabones and most of the heavy-duty toys from Kong -- or at least those are the only ones that stand up to her attack.
Lately she's also gone after things of mine, for some reason. USB cable are a good example. She has taken them off the end table in the living room and destroyed them. We moved most of that kind of stuff up so she wouldn't bother but when we're not home, she has gone into the bedroom and found stuff. I had a USB/Mini cable and an Anker Lightening cable in the bag that I used this past weekend for the 600k and she found those and destroyed them (doesn't take much chewing to destroy a cable, probably one bite !).
So ... we're back with the child gate only this time at our bedroom door. She wouldn't go in there when we're home; she knows that she's not allowed, but somehow that changes when she's left alone.
We remember well that Vickie wasn't allowed in the living room in Port Credit, but one day we spotted her at the window watching us drive off. Hmmm.
Anyway, hopefully we'll cure her of the interest in these types of things. They could be dangerous for her. There is no way to scold her after the fact because she won't know what she's being scolded for. Pieces of a cable on the living room carpet are great evidence, but you can't explain that to a dog.
If it was a counter that she was getting up on or food that she was accessing, there is a cure -- hot sauce -- doesn't have to be extreme hot but enough that she instantly gets the message. I don't think that hot sauce on a USB cable is a good thing, however ...
So ... apart from that ... we did go to Serene late in the day to review the details of their quote. While we were there Shane from the original paver place called Sandy's cell but she didn't pick up. He also emailed and I responded this a.m. with our schedule and also told him that we were doing due diligence on price and materials with another couple of companies. I might as well be upfront with him. He still hasn't answered my questions, however, and never mentioned that we would have to lay a new sidewalk, even though he and the fellow from Serene were the only ones at the meeting with the city. Was he going to come back later to say that the permit wasn't approved and he'd have to add money to pour a new sidewalk ? This is not some minor thing that could be forgotten.
Earlier in the day Sandy and Angelika took Marda to the airport. Perhaps Sandy has heard back, but I'm assuming that she's home now. She was flying from Orlando to Newark and driving home last night.
We both had good workouts with Jessica. She's really got me going now -- for example, four sets of 50 squat-row's intermingled with four sets of angled pushups off a bar -- like bounce pushups into the air intermingled with a tricep exercise. Yes, I was dripping. I felt good afterwards though, cleansed me of my lethargy from the 600k, yes it did.
I then went to the Podiatrist who made a slight adjustment to the orthotics while I paid yet another $50 co-pay. I've got to check that out. Every visit costs me $50 and I don't think that it should. This should be part of the follow-up from the orthotics work. I'd have to talk to UnitedHealthCare to see how these are being coded.
We had Lane Snapper for dinner, quite good. Another day was done.
Onward !
