Apr 14 - t-storms and maintenance, ebay

It was a day for bike maintenance and testing.  There were thunderstorms all around and even though I might have been lucky to slip between them, I decided not to chance it.

What I did do is some bike maintenance and testing:

-- change the brake pads, long overdue.  My past experience is that they take some tweaking before eliminating the squeak, with these V-Brakes, but I nailed these the first time.

-- change the chain -- chain checker showed it overdue.  Dang Florida riding is hard on chains, especially if you pick up a little wet then the fine sand does its job.

-- clean ... yeah, it was dirty, dirty everywhere.

-- try out new shoes -- ok, I'm satisfied, will use these shoes, must return a pair to the Performance store in Winter Park, which is a pain.  That was another reason for not going for a long ride -- getting new shoes wet that I might have to return

-- try out new helmet -- I'd setup the new LG helmet and am satisfied with the fit.

It wasn't a long ride, hopefully it was long enough.  I just went for a few miles -- N on Riverside, up, down, up, down on the causeway and back on Riverside.  It was the shoes upon which I was really focused; they feel ok.

... and ... I listed the Lynskey, a pair of shoes, two Velo Orange racks, handlebars and seatpost all on eBay.  Oh yes and Stargate Atlantis, Stargate SG1 and Law and Order series have all been listed.  Depending on what happens with the Lynskey, I may have other items for sale.  I've listed the frame/fork only but in my comments I'm entertaining offers on most if not all of the components as a complete bike ... make me an offer and I'll setup a buy-it-now -- all through eBay of course.

I've taken a picture of the fat tire bike and will be listing that on Craigslist.  I'm not going to be shipping a 39 pound bike anywhere !

Sandy and Angelika went to turn in her Garmin Vivosmart; Sandy doesn't like it.  They then went to the beach, making it back before the t-storm.  They did a lot of walking.

We had shrimp for dinner with the usual accompaniments.

Today ... Jessica soon for me and then, weather permitting (altough I see black clouds), a bike ride.  S&A are going to the Kennedy Space Center.

Onward !
