Apr 15 - it's in my voice

I almost lost my voice on the ride yesterday, it was so brutal.  The wind from the East was probably hitting 30 mph; it was all I could do to stay upright along the coast and then through Daytona, holding the road with the wind tunnel effect of the buildings. I was pretty much wiped out.

The weather shows likelihood of coastal flooding, that wind whipping up a very high tide.  I cranked our Skiff up a few more inches so that the motor wasn't dipping into the water as the tide came in.  I could have tilted it as well ... never thought of that !  Flooding doesn't reach here but the tides can be quite high.  We're about 8 feet over the high water mark and probably 2-3 miles, as the crow flies, from the ocean; well protected.

Sandy and Angelika went to the Kennedy Space Center.  It's constantly changing and Sandy said that there was much new even since we went with Bill and Collette.  They took the bus tour and took in the movies but still only saw about half.

Cassie had a quiet day, alone for almost six hours while I was riding and then we went out to dinner at the SYC to boot.  She was bouncing off the walls last night.

Today the winds are supposed to be sustained 27mph from the East.  At ground level it will be worse, it always is.  Hopefully I'll be able to get Cassie over to the sand bar with the Skiff once the tide retreats.  High tide is about 7am, so mid-morning should be good.  I don't expect that low tide will be as low as usual !

That's pretty much the whole story ... or at least all I can think to write ... Onward !
