The dang power tilt and trim is stuck on the Yamaha 40hp on the Skiff. It's my own fault; it was sticking and we went out in the boat anyway and now it's stuck down. In the down position, you cannot get at the pin at the top to release it for service. It probably needs grease but now I'm in trouble. There's a big bolt at the bottom and perhaps I can undo that but it's pretty awkward on the lift. I might have to pull it out with the trailer to work on it on land, which makes it easier to get at both sides. Ugh !! This may be a "call Ralph's Mobile Marine" situation. (Yes, his name is really Ralph; I've used him before).
Other than that, it was a beautiful albeit very windy day. I'd taken Cassie to the sandbar earlier and then the four of us (me, Cassie, Sandy, Angelika) went out to see a house from the water-side that Sandy is going to look at on Tuesday to checkout their paver work. We really couldn't see anything from the water so that was a waste of time ... even worse a waste of stuck motor ! C'est la vie.
I puttered on the bike, answered some eBay questions -- now have bids on some of those items -- etc. I exchanged several emails with this one fellow before I realized that he hadn't really read the listing properly ... yes, I'm only selling the frame and fork for that price not the entire bike. He then wanted to know if I'd take $200 more than the listing price for the entire bike and I told him that the handlebars were worth more than that ! We'll see where this one goes.
I experimented with a tracking tool app from Road ID that updates position every minute. Unfortunately it's one heck-of-a-battery hog. It went through about 40% of my battery in 3 hours. Clearly that's not workable for a rando ride ! Ed Bennett has it running for the 600k this weekend. I'll have to catch up with him after the ride to see how he powers his phone for the duration.
I guess that's about it.
Onward !
