Apr 3 - the jury is out

I rode with the new shoes yesterday.  The jury is out.  My right foot was giving me some problems; better than the two useless pairs sitting in my closet but not perfect. I'm not sure what to do from this point.

It was a cool ride with a brisk NE wind, brisk in temperature and velocity :).

The girls tried to go kayaking, but ended up instead having lunch at JB's and doing some shopping on Flagler.  There were white caps on the ICW and JB's only had sit on top kayaks -- they'd have been wet.

We went out for dinner, a Vietnamese Fusion place on Flagler, Kim's treat.  It was mostly good; not too much in the way of low carb offerings but I managed.  My tuna fish cakes (think crab cakes) were overcooked but otherwise interesting, along with a seaweed salad.  Lots of sea, you see !

While we were out, Cassie was at work.  She is fascinated by anything on the end table beside my chair.  I'm going to have to keep it cleared off; that's the only place where she has chewed anything that isn't hers.  Yesterday it was an HDMI cable and a $10 remote control for my camera.  Luckily she didn't swallow anything, like the battery in the remote control.  She's content with chewing.  Is she trying to get back at me for being left alone while I rode and the girls were out ?  -- 5 hours -- and then almost immediately going out again and leaving her ?  Does she get anxious after dark ?  She didn't touch anything during the day.

It's impossible to tell her that she's done something wrong at that point.  You have to catch her in the act, but the act was long since completed.

Today, Monday, I have Jessica again.  Sandy heads off in a half-hour with the girls, on the way to the airport.  All good things must come to an end.
