Apr 4 - to be continued ...

I had Jessica this a.m. and she really gave me a working over.  Squats, hamstrings, glutes ... sweat running off me ... this is why I have a hard time training on my own.  I hate being dripping wet from anything other than a hot shower !  Back we go on Wednesday ... can I keep this up ?

In other news ... Jim Brendel came over the other morning, Friday I guess it was, measuring windows.  He was afraid that they window guy had ordered the wrong windows -- size-wise.  Well, it turns out that they did order the wrong size for the big window.  He'd measured from side to side outside, not taking into account that the inside wall were narrower.  Now with the delivered window in hand, he wasn't very pleased.  Someone will end up eating the cost of that window, but not me.  How did he expect to fit a 64" window in the place of a 60" door ?

So our best laid plans have come to naught.  No windows, no pavers, nada.  Nothing until the Fall.  We're not happy with the paver people and have another company coming over tomorrow to look at, take measurements and give us a quote.  The owner of the company that we've been dealing with hasn't even responded to my email of two weeks ago.  That's a problem.  Apparently we're not the only ones unhappy with him.

So that's the news for the morning.  The window news is a few days old but oh well.

------

It's morning again.

We headed into Daytona and Sandy is now the  proud owner of the Garmin equivalent of a Fitbit -- Vivosmart HR.  One of the things that she wants it for is to track her sleep patterns although she already knows that she tends to be awake from 2-4, or somewhere in there.  I too am awake in that time period; sometimes I get up and use the TV to put me back to sleep, more often I just stay put.

We had a dual purpose at the Verizon store -- I was planning on putting in an order for the new iPhone SE, the 5-sized phone with the latest technology.  It will be delivered in a couple of weeks.  I could have had a 16gb on the spot but I'm pushing 13gb on my current 5 without even storing any music and not much in the way of pictures.  I don't want to be pushing the limit all the time and resale value would be lower with the 16gb version.

While there the fellow talked me into the Hum, the Verizon not-quite-equivalent to OnStar.  I say not-quite because OnStar used satellite technology; the Hum does not.  OnStar is hooked into your car's power whereas the Hum has to be charged via USB.  One part plugs into your OBD port and the other hangs from your visor.  The latter is paired with your phone via Bluetooth.  Anyway, the "deal" if you will, is that it's basically free as they offset its cost by reducing the cost of the phone.  It's $10 per month for the additional service which is cheaper than OnStar ... but I would have never bought OnStar.  I've had the unit on charge overnight and will set it up in the X5 today.  It can be moved car-to-car but that can come later.

Needless to say we spent a lot of time at the Verizon store.

Next up, Harbor Freight.  I picked up a couple of items, browsed a bit -- very busy place as they have one of their sales on -- I think that they always have sales on.

Once home, we got a call from the window people and they came and re-measured.  It seems that there's a slight possibility that we could get the new windows in place before we head north.  I'll have to talk to Jim Brendel today.

Sandy went out for some groceries and we had a stir-fry using some leftover steak that we had in the freezer.  Part-way through making dinner she got a call from Jeff ... nephew of Jeff from Coronado Carpet (our tile guy) who is going to come and do a quote on our paver job.  We have another local firm coming to quote this afternoon.  Will we ever hear back from Shane ?  Who knows.   Time marches on and that's less likely with the passage.  It seems that everyone has horror stories about working with him.

Another day was done.  Today, other than the aforementioned quote, I'm hoping to get out and ride.  I did go to the gym and do some abs and other work in the front room.

Cassie is getting anxious ... time to feed both of us.

Onward !
