It was a day for mostly doing misc after arrival things.
Inside, I unpacked the bike, did some fussing with alternate packing methods; unpacked the semi soft sided bike box, full of clothing; washed the outer gear (coat, rain pants, gloves, shoe covers etc.), finally got the PC running (usually the first thing that I do, but with the phone and the laptop available, not so much); caught up on some Randonneurs Ontario things before the 8pm conference call etc. etc.
Kim and her friends left fairly early in the day, Kim heading back to Brantford. I never did meet the second friend with the dog. She apparently will be back on Wednesday then more of the gang on Thursday.
Outside, I sprayed the driveway, now overgrown with weeds and daisies; took Cassie for a short boat ride -- quite short as it was pretty windy and bouncy; played with her in the cove, letting her get in some swimming; threw the ball for her on the deck. This is one dog that doesn't tire of playing. Sandy says that I've trained her well, that it's my own fault. I say that she's built fort this and it's her nature. Debbie Johnston says that she should have a playmate, but that's not likely going to happen. If we were more stationary, perhaps, but not as it is. Heck no !
I've got more projects / things-to-do than I can count, at this point. Fiberglass the little boat, fix the Merc 25, more bike work, riding/riding/riding, load up the wood box for the Fall, transplant some hosta, weed whack the yard and the back 40, make my seed bars ... those are top of mind but all I'd have to do is walk around and I'd find more ... like replace screen on side of gazebo ...
Sandy is going into Sudbury today, food shopping for the next few days as well as for when I'll be here by myself. I've got an appointment at the Arnstein Garage at 2pm to swap wheels with her car. Hopefully that will fix the problem. She's supposed to also get the alignment checked in Parry Sound when she heads south on Thursday, but I don't know if she's made that appointment yet.
Today is supposed to be cool, an interlude. It was 59F when I got up, which is about the high for the day. It's now 57F.
I put the A/C on when we got here the other day, took the humidity out of the air. It doesn't really have enough oomph to really cool the house down but can maintain a set temperature.
I should check the run log on the generator, just out of curiosity to see if there's been any power outages while we were away.
Onward ? Ok ...
