Jun 29 - wrapping up

I wrote my letter to the Ontario Ombudsman, sort of closing the book on that issue, sending that off by email.  Pat told me that MTO has already been contacted so I'm not sure why they had to be so concerned with privacy ... perhaps just because.  I haven't seen an acknowledgement of the email yet but the wheels move slowly in government.

Speaking of wheels, I did get out for a short bike ride, 20 miles only.  My back/hips are still bothering me and I didn't want to push it.  This was just a stretch-my-legs ride.  I'd like to say that it felt good but it didn't.  My back does feel somewhat better this morning. 

The deer flies are in full swing now; what's new, but that didn't stop me from getting Cassie out for some swimming, chasing the ball.  She doesn't give up, will go and go and go.  I've now got the ingredients for the mosquito spray and will try that; don't know if it has any effect on deer or horse flies.  Epsom salts, beer and mouthwash ... hey, I'll be amazed if it works.  It doesn't cost much to try.

I fussed around a great deal with a new modem, now have the Fortinet disconnected.  The Fortinet couldn't seem to hold a WiFi signal, nor was it strong; the new modem seems to work all the way to Jason's and shows signal strength 99 in the house and down in the gazebo.  I'd connected an old dlink and linksys as wap's, since the Fortinet was causing so many problems.  I may or may not leave them live. 

For some reason 5g doesn't show up very strong with WifiInfoView and doesn't show up at all on my cell phone or laptop as an available wifi service for connection.  I don't know what's going on with that.  I should probably play with the antennas to increase the signal strength and there's probably a simple reason why it doesn't show up for connection. 

I didn't realize that I hadn't updated the face page on my blog or the family pictures website; finally did that.  I'd immediately updated the  Facebook page with the family picture from Christmas but not the others.

Sandy heads to Toronto today to meet Marda.  She'll be back on Monday.  Kim was supposed to arrive last night; not sure if she did; more Davies are due to arrive today, which will probably be late tonight as I'm sure that they're working today.  Gavin, Amanda and Kyle are coming for sure; Kim wasn't sure about Mike/Jill/Eris.
