Jun 9 - dishwashing ?

If you clean up a problem with a satellite dish, is that the same as dish washing ?

I got onto "chat" with Shaw and setup a service call.  They were not going to charge, so what the heck.  Then I decided to at least rearrange the connections so that they were in order, from left to right, in my wiring closet to match the dish.  That necessitated some disconnecting and reconnecting and lo and behold, it started working.

Did I dislodge some dirt that was causing the problem ?  Who knows.  However, I do know that later as I fiddled some more, I lost the connection again but on and off and it was back.  At this point it's back and I cancelled the service call.  This is connected to the extra receiver in the den anyway which is then connected to the DVR.  I haven't used it in some time so I'll leave well enough alone at this point.

Then I went for a bike ride, just to 69 and back.  I'm looking to maintain, not gain.  It's too late to gain strength; if I'm not there yet, it's going to be a long 1200k next week and I can't do much about it !

Did that loose earth where I dug in the ground plate finally get wet from the rain the other day ?  Suddenly this afternoon, I notice the attenuation having moved from 14.something to 11.something.  Will it stay there ?

Said farewell to Jason & company; they'll be off to Europe as we head to Reading, NYC, Seattle.  We'll see them about a week into July, give or take.

It's morning again and I see that the attenuation is at 10.6.  It's possible that the grounding plate is actually doing something, since that's the only real change and it may very well have taken some time for that loose earth to do anything.  Perhaps I should get up there with a watering can ?

Sandy will be back sometime today.  I'll have to think about starting to pack for Seattle; everything except the kitchen sink as usual.  In some ways it's easy as I have to pack for wet and dry, hot and cold, yes, everything.
