So the church is 2.5 miles away. I've got four options -- not go, take a taxi, take my bike, walk. I decided to walk. It took about 45 minutes each way, not too bad. That's the farthest point-to-point that I've walked in like forever. I wasn't sure if my bike would be welcome in the church so I didn't seriously think about that option.
More on the High Country ride -- I setup the four day's stages in ridewithgps for my Garmin. On the map that you see when you click on the link, there's a ride profile shown at the bottom. If you click on the three horizontal line symbol before the ELE you get an expanded view of the profile. On Day 1, for example, there's this long climb from approximately mile 62 to mile 125, where we gain 5,000 feet, give or take. This should be interesting !

----------
Well, checked in and waiting. I had a snooze this afternoon, went to the grocery store again and had their Kale superfood salad, a couple of eggs and now I'm still hungry. I don't feel like going outside again though. I've got the TdF on the TV and at some point will fall asleep. I've got my iPhone alarm set for 2:30 a.m.; day-of-ride check-in is from 3:00-3:30 and we depart at 4am. Once up, I need to eat some food, get my bags downstairs, have some coffee etc. etc. The time goes quickly.
Apparently we're in for some cool weather, likely frost in the mountains. Great. As long as it stays dry and we don't get hail/snow etc. I'm good ... I hope. The temperature swings are wild.
Onward and upward !
