Everything went like clockwork.
The flight was early; I waited for my shuttle booking to the hotel in Louisville (Boulder), arriving around noon.
The first priority is always assembling the bike and then I took it for a ride in the parking lot. I walked to the grocery store (Albertson's) and picked up some raisins and dried apricots, cheese etc.
Just across the parking lot in the stores adjacent to the hotel, I spotted two fairly new establishments --
Both sell "Recreational Cannabis". It will be interesting to see how much Canada inspects luggage coming back from Colorado.
So far, I've only seen John Ward Smith. He's rooming with Ed Bennett who is also out from Florida. John was heading to the bike shop that had put his bike together; Ed was handling his by himself in the room, like me.
Assembly did take less time this trip, just under an hour. I didn't take as much off this time, which is why it assembled quickly.
I had dinner with John and Ed and my day was pretty much done.
Today, Sunday, we have bike inspection etc. in the afternoon and otherwise just hang out.
Monday at 4am we depart.
John will be updating a rider progress spreadsheet at the night controls -- http://tinyurl.com/z2dryj3
and of course my SPOT will be working, or hopefully so. It wasn't behaving itself on the Cascade; I'm going to have to try a new mounting point to see if that helps.
