I have to put a question mark on that one because it was a short ride -- longer than the last but not a full fledged ride, in my books. I did get to 69 and back which, I suppose, is more workout than you'd think because of the 5+ km of fresh chip seal aka gravel riding. It's the roughest chip seal that I've ever seen, lumpy under the gravel. Hopefully that will smooth out or it's going to be an unpleasant 5km for a long time.
The worst part of that 5km wasn't the gravel, it was breathing the dust when cars went by. The only vehicle to slow down was the AECON pickup truck -- they're the ones doing some of the construction around here.
Otherwise, it was hot, easily hitting 90F. Cassie got in some swimming and fetching, of course, and ate a full bowl of ice. She comes to the door and stares at me and then when I open the door, she wants me to come out and play with her.
Lauren's got a little stomach upset going on and so do I, but mine produced diarrhea. My gut hasn't felt quite right since returning from out west, don't know if it's something that I ate or simply tied into my general feeling of malaise that I haven't quite shaken from the experience, both mental and physical but they're always linked. Tomorrow I'll get in a longer ride and perhaps that will help. Exercise is a good cure-all.
I fussed with Jason's modem, setting it up as a switch / wap, i.e. same as before only turning off the dhcp server. That always takes some time but I was prepared with iPhone and laptop to make the adjustments and test things.
Whoops ... it's mid afternoon on the 23rd and I forgot to post this one from the 22nd ... tch tch.
I was planning on riding today but circumstances got in the way. Sandy and Lauren went to Parry Sound and I didn't want to leave her highness alone for 5 hours. I'll go tomorrow. I've got Mass late this afternoon.
Onward !
