Kylie, Chris & Lauren left mid morning with Stef & Aaron and Mya hot on their heels. David & Vanda left before 6pm. Jeffrey, Sara, Emma, Zoe & Matthew got away at 6:05 this morning. The house is so quiet now ! It's eerie !
Everyone is pretty efficient with packing, having done this many times before. Jeffrey & Sara get everything into the car the night before except for the cooler bag and the last-minute-stuff bag. They get up at 5 to get away by 6 and half of that time is getting the kids organized. The kids are used to it too and there's a minimum of fuss. They all eat on the road.
It was another water skiing day for David & Vanda. Gavin also had a trip around. Jeffrey tried a couple of times and then threw in the towel -- he was beat up already from hoisting himself onto the dock swimming with the kids.
Some of the water toys are already away -- the blow-up ones, other than the ski biscuit. I'll deal with the rest shortly, including putting the Bayliner away. I will give that a wipe down with a wet sponge first.
Seeing Jeffrey off reminded me that I have to deal with the satellite dish on the ground; get that to the dump. Basically I've got to be organized to go to Italy this week as when I get back from the Manitoulin 1000 this coming weekend my time will be devoted to packing bike and gear, not packing the house.
It was a smaller crowd for dinner with 5 gone. Tonight it will certainly be quiet time.
It's too bad that we're so spread out. It would be great if we could have the occasional full family weekend. Kylie is planning on coming up to the cottage for Canadian Thanksgiving so we might very well have her and Chris, Stef/Aaron/Lauren and David & Vanda. Thanksgiving will be here before we know it ... we won't be here most of the interim time !
