Aug 16-22 - well that's that !

The worst thing about these rides is leaving your friends behind when they cannot finish.  That really spoiled PBP 2015 for me -- leaving Jerry by the roadside.  I was worried that might happen again, as he was totally overcome by the heat. 

The best thing about PBP 2015 was seeing Hamid complete, against all odds.  Hamid and Jerry both completed the 1001 Miglia, 2016 edition; Hamid riding strong finished way ahead of us at 2am on the 21st.  Jerry was back on track once the sun set on the final day, but, ahem, that final day ran until noon the next day, but that will be covered in the full write-up !

Sandy, Shab and Hamid were awaiting Jerry and me when we finished up.  After a little celebration, medals awarded and pictures taken, we headed to the hotel, had a snooze and then dinner. 

Today ... we'll see.  We had intended to head south right away but I'm sitting at the coin operated lavanderie right now, un-stinking my cycling clothing.   It will then be packed until we fly home.  Shab is with me, doing the same with Hamid's.
