Aug 26 - Capri etc.

We decided to do the Isle of Capri for the day, or at least for lunch, after we'd wandered around the grounds at the villa checking out the olives, lemons etc.

Driving down, down, down the switchbacks, Sandy spotted a sign for the port so we headed down some more.  We weren't entirely sure that car traffic was allowed but we continued !  Finding parking right at the port, we signed up for the valet (no choice) as they take your car somewhere else.  The big P isn't exactly a parking lot in that case.

Our timing was good and we caught the 11:30 ferry, joining the billions of people amassed on Capri.  No, we didn't take the funicular or the boat to the blue grotto, instead we walked up and up and up until we got tired then walked down and down and down, found a spot for a glass of wine and a Caprese salad.  We took the ferry back and walked up and up and up, did some wandering and shopping, back down and down and down to the P.  The shuttle then took us up, up, up to a remote parking lot.  That worked out well.

It was time to relax in the room and outside, catch up on world news, and then we went back down to the beach and ate at the same spot as the night before.  This time we drove.

Today ... Pompeii ... onward !
