Sep 21 - I'm glad that's over !

It occurred to me that Cassie hasn't chewed anything since we left Florida.  The only things that she chewed there were a couple of coffee table books and usb cables.  She's been left alone a lot here at the cottage and at Sheryl's and hasn't bothered with anything -- not even her toys.  She's quiet when left alone.  With Sheryl, she did "finish off" a couple of her toys; here at the cottage she gets that out of her system by chewing sticks, but that's dying down too.  She never did touch any furniture, unlike Abby who had to be cured of that by spraying vinegar.

Oh yes, at Sheryl's she did take a liking to some items in the garden - beans, roses, tomatoes ... go figure.

We (Cassie and I) had a busy day yesterday, playing fetch (both of us) and swimming (her).  I went out for a couple of hours on the bike, still riding the 38's which helped quite a bit on the bouncy chip seal.

At 69 or rather just this side of 69, they're completely rebuilding the Grundy Lake Supply Post.  I guess that's the deal that they made with the owners when they take over that land at the junction of 69 and 522.  Yesterday they were also replacing a culvert between that and 69.  I haven't been that way south or north to see progress otherwise -- my travel has been 522 east to Ottawa.  Sandy got home around 4:30 from a day trip to Parry Sound and said that we're not driving on the new bridge yet; not sure when that's supposed to happen.

I took a look at the driveway construction at the turnaround for the cottage on the point; lots of blasting and road building.  There wasn't anyone working there yesterday; the big hoe and two bulldozers were idle.  The blasting is finished, by the looks of things; all that equipment gone.  There's a huge amount of material at the turnaround that will end up mostly on the driveway, I expect.  It will all have to be gone by the time the snow flies, but they've got lots of time for that.

That's pretty much it.  Rain is predicted for today so I'll find something to do in the house; not hard.

Today ... finally going to have my first go at making mozzarella.  This should be interesting !

Onward !
