Sep 24 - new neighbours

The highlight of the day was finally meeting Al Roissl and Sandra Crowe -- our new neighbours at the end of the road.  Of course at this point they only have a driveway, and even that isn't finished, but I've exchanged many, many emails with them and it was nice to finally meet.

They weren't here long; simply dropped in to say hello.  They came up Friday night and were heading back south shortly after stopping in.  They were staying at Ken & Doris's and really had nothing to do other than check on the driveway work.

Cottage construction starts as soon as the driveway is finished.  They're hoping to get it closed in before the snow flies.  It will be a race against time !

I got out for a ride to and from the railroad tracks by highway 69.  It was cool but bearable.  I'm looking forward to riding in Florida !  I would probably just take a break if it weren't for the fact that I've got a1200k the day after we get to Florida.

... and ... I got the dock moved.  That's a big deal because last year David and I had to winch it over.  It mostly floated into place with a little encouragement.  I've been watching the water levels and they haven't gone up with the rain and I didn't want to take a chance on any more drop.  Now, I guess, I'll wrap the gazebo, but there's no big rush on that, just needs to be done before Thanksgiving weekend.

I talked to Bonnie and we're going to meet them for lunch in Parry Sound on Tuesday, unless something changes.

Onward !
