Nov 16 - more plumbing

I spent a good bit of the day plumbing – the hot and cold water supplies and drain running from the back of the dining room deck area to the so-called outdoor kitchen.  The buried lines were already in place but I had to add/replace valves etc. at both ends as well as PVC bits.  The copper lines coming out of the house proved to be problematic as they were very very short and simply sticking a sharkbite ball valve on them wouldn’t work.  The existing valves were compression, so I had to very carefully cut the nut behind the compression ring with the angle grinder and then just touch the compression ring with the grinder and pop it off.  Then, because a valve would conflict with the drain line, I had to use a sharkbite elbow then a short bit of 1/2” copper pipe and then the sharkbite valve.  Using the sharkbites provides flexibility as they can rotate and still keep their seal.  At the outdoor kitchen, I simply used a PVC ball valve.

Speaking of the outdoor kitchen, that fellow arrived and started his work, mostly moving the concrete boxes into place. This is definitely overkill, no doubt about it.

… and … the guys continued to work on the driveway and side walkway, but not the back.  They were short one worker, not sure why.  The A/C people delivered their concrete pad, which is now sitting on the pavers at the side walkway.  It’s coming together, but slowly.  We’re not out of the mess yet but moving in the right direction.

I tested the sprinklers … all ok so far.  They need tuning as far as coverage, but that’s simple.  I might also have to add a sprinkler head in the back because I deleted the one that popped up in the middle of the old pavers.  We’ll see after I do the garden irrigation; that might do the job or I can add the sprinkler head from that area.

Today – MRI was cancelled; I don’t have approval yet from UHC.  I should have more word on that today.

Onward ?!?
