This changes the Board makeup significantly. Before the election, all the Board members were from the west coast, save one in Colorado. Nigel is from the Northeast; Paul and I are from Florida. It's a 3-year term with two members rotated off each year, max two terms in a row. Lynne Fitzsimmons would normally have been re-elected, but was not. Mark Thomas had to rotate off, so he wasn't running. After a year off, he can run again. I don't think that's the best system (there should be term limits), but it is what it is. I had a few people working hard for me to "get out the vote" and now the fun begins. A counter campaign from a number of ex-presidents were pushing for Timothy Sullivan, but that fell flat.
Paul really didn't think that his chances were high for getting the RBA Liaison role. Only the 50 current RBA's vote for that position. From the counts above, everyone voted and the vote was split. Spencer is the incumbent.
In other news ... I got in my November 200k yesterday, a very cold and windy trip north and then south. The temperature was under 50F to start and I didn't warm up until about 10:30, from a 6:00 start. That's when my fingers started to work again. Why did I pick the first cold day to do a 200k ? I wanted to do it on Sunday and that's just how it worked out ! Anyway, that's done. I've got to squeeze in another once December rolls in; hopefully a warmer day; hopefully a south wind ! We haven't had one of those for a long, long time.
Sandy didn't do any work outside yesterday, given the cold and the wind. She did continue her walking / training regimen, getting in a 7 mile walk. She's amazing. I'm afraid that she'll make it to the top of Kili and I'll be left behind with breathing and/or foot problems.
I did my MRI last Thursday and will call the shoulder guy this a.m. to make an appointment. The results should be up on the patient portal now. Later this week, I'll go in and do my annual labs, prepping for my annual physical (which turns out to be a friendly chat with Dr. Keller) the beginning of December. The only other appointment that I need to schedule is the annual urologist. Yikes, getting old is all about medical issues !
Onward ?
