Nov 21 - dog wire

More progress on the outdoor kitchen; the travertine is finished.  Now Dave will tackle the travertine full wall backsplash.  On Wednesday the counter people will come and make a template.  I'm not sure when it will be delivered though; hopefully before we head north.

Eric came over and we went over issues with the steps -- uneven in places, thinset not holding.  Guys will come this a.m. and grind down the wall block underneath, level and re-thinset.  Hopefully that will be it but I suspect not.  It's a troublesome area.

I tackled the dog wire, running it through the conduit under the driveway.  I ran into one spot where they'd cut the conduit so I popped off a bit of concrete and fixed it up.  Next up, running the wire under the sidewalks.  That proved to be a real pain.  Gene lent me a 10' piece of 3/4 pvc with a hose attachment.  That got so stuck under my final run that it couldn't be removed -- not even with burly Dave's help.  Nope, it only got more unmoveable.  Oh well, it's only pvc.  I cut it.  I'll replace the few $ of fittings and give Gene a new one.

Sandy busied herself with buying plants.  Cas came and took away the last skid of pavers -- when he'd come before there was a car in the way of that skid.   Other than much messed up grass, it's coming together.

I'll try doing a lot of watering and see if the grass fixes itself but if it doesn't, we'll have to have some sod delivered.  We haven't had any rain since we got down here mid October.  Sandy wanted to pick up some sod but it doesn't take long to pile up a few hundred pounds of sod and the car would suffer.  Delivery would be better.  Installation would be even better :).

The Viking oven recall repair part arrived late yesterday.  Now we have to get a service appointment.  That should be interesting.  Moving the stove out is next to impossible, it's so tight to the granite on both sides.

Onward ?

Maybe.  Still no progress on the roof ...  I called the roofer to see if I was still on the list and they're to call me back, but nothing.  I haven't done anything about the soffit; was waiting on the roof.  I haven't heard from the painter.  All in all, I suspect that we'll have work going on through the Spring; hopefully complete before we leave for the summer !

Some progress on the shoulder -- MRI complete and appointment made with shoulder guy for next week.  Where we go from there, time will tell.  The earliest that I'd be able to do surgery would be after Kilimanjaro.  That would put me out of commission for a while.  Ongoing exercise has helped, has also helped my back.  Chiro helps the back too; I have an appointment with her today.  Those are close by, quick and inexpensive.  Ugh.

Inside window finishing is somewhat stalled.  Sandy needs to do sills for both windows and blinds for the bedroom.  I haven't had any rainy days to work inside !

Ok, this is the definition of onward -- always a pile of things in the hopper.

Onward !
