Nov 22 - three projects

Dave has almost wrapped up his work on the outdoor kitchen.  The people are supposed to come this morning to do the template.  Dave's work includes the full wall backsplash.  That is coming together.

Eric's people came and ground down the some of the step wall blocks, leveled and re-thinset.  It looked good until late in the day when it was apparent that a lot of the thinset hadn't held.  Whether that's because Sandy was walking on it, I don't know.  At any rate, it's a mess.  Ugh.

... last but not least, I spent a lot of the day burying dog wire.  First the conduit, then the sidewalks, now the grass.  The grass is the hard part.  For a long time I was inching my way along but then I did find a better solution, which is this ultra heavy pry bar / tamper that has a 4" pointed end that I can raise (it's about 7' long) and pound into the grass, moving sideways and creating a channel a few inches deep.  I then use a small piece of wood to press the wire into the ground.  The underlying roots are so strong that I have to jump on a shovel to make any headway; I'm surprised that my ankles aren't sore from that.

Anyway, I've now buried across the front and up the side to Chet's fence.  There's no more that needs to be buried on that side.  On Gene's side, I've got a lot to do !  The other issue, of course, is that it isn't just one wire.  It's two wires about 3' apart.  Yes, double the fun.  I'll keep working at it.

Onward ?!
