Dec 14 - all's well

A snowy trip up, but we're here.  I dug my way down to the cottage - about 18" of snow on the stairs - and cranked up the heat from the furnace and positioned and turned on the basement electric heaters.  I only set those up temporarily during the winter.

My UPS had apparently had some sort of fault and needed to be reset, which is why the alarm system, phone accessible thermostat and modem had all crapped out.  Perhaps it protected them from some sort of surge ?  We'll never know.  Everything was quickly up and running.

It wasn't quite as quick warming the place up, but by 9pm or so it was 66F in here.  Right now it's -7.4F outside.  The car is out of the cold, in the barn.

Cassie is having a blast in the snow.  She might not be quite as excited this a.m. in the cold.  From 16F when we got here yesterday to -7 now and likely even colder tonight ... she will have cold feet for sure.

I had my Randonneurs Ontario conference call last night which went precisely one hour.  That's a record (short) !  Great !

I've got a couple of calls today and will hopefully get into Loring to pick up the mail.

Onward !
