Dec 4 - bracing myself ...

Once a year FB is overwhelming with birthday wishes !

However, on the day before my birthday, when I was much younger, I did get out for my 200k.  December's requirement for my R-whatever now in the bag.  My next 200+ ride will be in January.  I will try and get out for a "regular" ride later this week but it's going to be a busy one.

It was a beautiful day and I was able to do the ride south, which is a treat at this time of year.  I've had December rides in the cold and rain, but not this year.

Sandy and Marda tooled around town, picking up flounder for dinner.  I went to Publix and added asparagus.  Both of them were cooked on the new grill which is big enough for both the griddle and one of the expanded metal sheets for doing small things that might slip through ... like asparagus.

Today I'm on a diet.  I'm heading to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville for my annual urologist appointment.  This one is a pain because he wants to do an MRI.  It's the latest technology for looking at the prostate.  There are no indications that anything has changed; he just wants to use his new machine, spend my health plan's money.  I agreed to this a year ago ... what was I thinking ?

The MRI means enema and fasting, because they put you out.  I'm going to see on-the-spot if I can get away without going under, but I think that he (my doctor) can't override radiology.  They want to have a driver there, but, as I told the lady who called on Friday to review procedures, I don't have a driver.  Well, she said, you'll have to wait four hours before leaving.  Ok, I said.

We'll see how the day goes.  There's always the possibility that they'll just send me home and refuse to do the procedure.

Onward ...
